Foldable, Crease-Free AMOLED Display from SAMSUNG

Posted by Karan Vora

Samsung has succeeded in creating foldable AMOLED displays and showed mankind that the future belongs to non-rigid screens. Samsung Advance Institute Of Technology in South Korea designed & created the first prototype that easily folds in the middle and show no crease even after 1000 attempts. The consumer electronic industry is rapidly advancing towards smaller & flexible devices and there has been a great interest in the development of flexible displays. Researchers have already succeeded in developing displays which can be rolled and bent. Such screen provide the portability factor to large screens. However the biggest problem associated with the flexible displays is the development of crease in the middle. Samsung’s new technology eliminates that problem to a great extent.

Samsung’s researcher said that the displays can soon be commercially produced. The elastic silicone rubber is commercially available for mass consumption by manufacturers. Researchers are now focusing on development of larger foldable displays. Once the technology is fully developed, foldable displays would be integrated in mobile devices, handheld gaming devices, tablet computers and so on.
The future surely is Unexpected!!!

Backup MySQL Database to a file

Backing up your database is a very important system administration task, and should generally be run at scheduled intervals. We will use the mysqldump utility included with mysql to dump the contents of the database to a text file that can be easily re-imported.
Syntax:
mysqldump -h localhost -u root -pmypassword databasename > dumpfile.sql
Example:
mysqldump -h localhost -u root -p2Uad7as9 database001 > dumpfile.sql
This will give you a text file containing all the commands required to recreate the database.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Posted by Karan Vora

Android 4.0 (or maybe 2.4 or 3.4, who knows) Ice Cream Sandwich was announced at Google's I/O event earlier this year. Google suggested it would become the standard platform across all android devices regardless of whether it's a tablet or phone. Most devices will get the update eventually to create a sense of high standard.

Features:
  • Which Phone is most likely to get it?
Many people have rumored that the Nexus 3 will ship with the latest version of Android which is Ice Cream Sandwich. Reports also suggest that HTC will be the manufacturer of the phone although this has not been confirmed yet.
  • USB Hosting
It is understood that Android 4.0 will bring about USB Hosting which will allow you to use practically any device with the tablet ranging from an x-box controller for games to a keyboard/mouse for surfing and other things. You will also have the ability to integrate a USB device to work specifically with an app. So a heart monitor used with a fitness app, for example.
  • Tracks Your Face
Android 4.0 wil have the ability to track your face so instead of you trying to move around to get into the camera, the camera will auto-focus on to you instead. It will also be handy in video conferencing because the camera will move to you when you begin speaking and then move to whoever speaks so you don't waste time trying to move your phone or tablet every time the you want to focus it on someone in particular.

Difference between Facebook, Twitter & Google+

Posted by Karan Vora

When it comes to social networking sites, Facebook and Twitter are the top favorites. Whether you are part of the crowd of the teen or adult, it has caught so much attention and focus. We all know that most of the people are interested to check and update their status through their shout outs or upload their latest photos. But Google+ has something to prove that could outweigh the existing social networking sites.
facebook google plus twitter versus 10 Differences among Google+, Facebook, and Twitter

  • Personal Updates

Based on the research conducted among the ratio of users people normally make personal updates especially about feelings, happiness and other emotions about certain events even without sharing it to the whole world. Twitter got this portion compared to Facebook; nonetheless, we don’t have any exact estimation if this would be the same response that would be gathered by Google+ since they are just in a series of testing and has not yet fully launched the system in full blast.

  • Document / Data Integration

Slide2 e1310666873614 10 Differences among Google+, Facebook, and Twitter
This is one of the advantages and differences very far from Twitter and almost unseen in Facebook. It lacks in these factors because Google+ has integrated this application to their Gmail account or with their Google documents, whether it is on spreadsheet or in word files that can be shared with selected friends, which is mostly applicable in business.

  • More Opinions and Reactions

Slide3 e1310666915486 10 Differences among Google+, Facebook, and Twitter
People in general loves to express themselves not just in verbal communication but in written also, which has been possible because of the choices that they have whether they would do it on Facebook or Google+. Definitely, Twitter would allow them to freely open themselves where they can give their reactions on something privately. Yet Google+ is offering another way to share it to that person and not share it publicly where that individual is part of the circles in his or her profile.

  • Comments / Posts

Slide4 e1310666980203 10 Differences among Google+, Facebook, and Twitter
Facebook and Twitter shows when specific comments or posts have been made where you could literally see the time and the exact date when things have happened. This is the setback that could be experienced of the future and current Google+ users although it has the ability to show when the post was made but the exact time display is still being fixed and worked out by Google+.

  •  Enable Spamming

Slide5 e1310667098559 10 Differences among Google+, Facebook, and Twitter
One of the things that we really hate the most is when we receive tagging of pictures and the latest spam messages on our wall. This is the common issue that Facebook has been trying to resolve which Google+ has resolved by sending notification to the user whether to accept it or not, which is a very convenient advantages and not having mistakes of clicking something to bring your online demise.
  • Latest Buzz
Slide6 e1310667165914 10 Differences among Google+, Facebook, and Twitter
On Facebook and Twitter, you have to check online the latest news to be able to share the latest scoop and buzz in the world but with Google+ you don’t have to go to another site to check what’s in and what’s hot; it will be shared directly to you based on your preferences and Sparks. It doesn’t matter if you want to know the latest happenings about entertainment or sports or politics. You’ll get everything in one scoop.

  • Colorful Animation

Slide7 e1310667210425 10 Differences among Google+, Facebook, and Twitter
This is something that you could not see on plain Twitter accounts and not even on Facebook, although there are changes being made to defeat the challenge that Google+ is bringing. So far, so plain, so lame. Well at least the updates can scroll down and animate to fade.

  • Video Sharing

Slide8 e1310667253947 10 Differences among Google+, Facebook, and Twitter
On Twitter, you could just post a link of a certain video from YouTube or from any other video websites. But with Google+ that limitation is lifted off due to the merger of YouTube and Google+. Although you could also do that but there are still restrictions that must be observed especially in observing lewdness and other unethical or unlikely videos, which promote the opposite of the purpose of social networking sites.

  • Connections

Slide9 e1310667294417 10 Differences among Google+, Facebook, and Twitter
This is the common denominator of the three big social networking sites online but they differ in functionality and features. In fact, in Twitter, it is limited on those who those who are added as followers and who are following. Although both can make highest security when and who to share important information. Nonetheless, Google+ can make specific persons appear depending on the user where things can be shared privately or for the group of 6 or more, or confined to certain individuals like families or best of friends.
  • Video Group Chat

Slide10 e1310667334256 10 Differences among Google+, Facebook, and Twitter
This is something that would definitely kick off Twitter and especially Facebook. We are all aware that Twitter is more on personal updates and it’s like a personal diary from an individual, particularly the goings and progress. However, in Google+, you could have the chance to talk not just to one person but even to more than 8 persons on the cam at the same time. This is one that Facebook is trying to beat but it can’t be possible because they are not independently working as an entity of its own.

How to Import your FACEBOOK Contacts to GOOGLE+ ???

Posted by Karan Vora

One of the negatives to setting up and using a new social media platform like Google+ is creating your contact lists all over again. Many of you might be hesitant to get involved with Google+ because your community is already established on Facebook. If this is the only thing keeping you from trying out the new platform, there is a simple way around this roadblock. Here are the steps to migrate your Facebook friends to Google+.
1. Sign up for a Yahoo mail account if you don’t already have one. Log into the account and click on the Contacts tab. There you’ll see a function to import contacts from Facebook. Follow those instructions.

2. Once your contacts are imported click on the drop down box that says “actions.” Choose export all and export to a Yahoo csv file.
3. Now go to Google and log into your gmail account. If you don’t have one you can create one quickly. Since you are interested in using Google+ I’m going to assume you have a Google profile already. Once logged in, click on Contacts and create a new group called Facebook.
4. Select the group and then choose “import contacts.”  Browse to where you saved the csv file and choose import. Choose the Facebook group as the destination and click import.
5. Now log into Google+, click on your circles and choose “find and invite.”
That’s it! Now you can add anyone who’s already on Google+ to your circles and invite those that are not.
Thank You!!!

How to FIX Web’s Most Annoying Problems???

Posted by Karan Vora

The INTERNET is wonderful, but it's also a landfill for many annoying things. Here are ways how you can fix them for a better browsing experience.

  • Too Many Ads

Ads are one of the most obvious (but nonetheless biggest) annoyances on the internet. It's not necessarily because they're ads, but because there are so many of them and they're frequently intrusive. Fortunately, blocking them is easy. Just pick up a copy of an ad blocker for ChromeFirefoxSafari, and even Internet Explorer.

  • Excessive Flash

Like ads, Flash might not be so bad if it was used in moderation. Or if it hadn't become so bloated. Or it didn't often overtake your CPU. If Flash is driving you nuts, you have a couple of options. If you're looking for browser-specific solutions, you can pick up FlashBlock for FirefoxChrome,Opera, or Safari. Additionally, on Mac OS X, you can use FlashFrozen for a one-click solution to an overactive Flash plug-in. You can also useClickToFlash for Safari on Mac OS X so that you have to click to load any embedded Flash movie on a web page.

  • Tedious Forms and Logins

Top 10 Fixes for the Web's Most Annoying ProblemsWhile most web browsers save your passwords and help you fill out online forms, that's only particularly useful if you use one web browser. While you might stick with the same web browser on all your systems, you're often out of luck on your mobile devices. It's also troublesome if you decide to eventually change web browsers. Using a password service that works across everything you use—on desktop computers and on your phones, portable media players, and tablets—puts this annoyance aside. Despite recent issues, I still like LastPass for the job. Of course, there are a few other great options should you prefer them.

  •  Registering for New Accounts

Sometimes you want to try out a web service without going through the trouble of registering online. Sometimes you need to just use that service quickly and will have no use for that account later. Whatever the reason may be, registration means giving out your personal info and that's not always something you want to do. Fortunately there are databases of public usernames and passwords for you to borrow in these cases. BugMeNot is a great option and comes in browser-extension form for Chrome andFirefox, plus you can access it via the BugMeNot web site which also provides a bookmarklet for virtually any browser.

  • Ugly and Confusing Web Sites

Not all web sites have simple and intuitive user interfaces, and many are just plain ugly. If you want to improve a particular site, you can do that with Userstyles. Basically, they just override the CSS to make any site look different (and hopefully more usable). There are also extensions and add-ons that help as well. For example, you can alter YouTube (Firefox and Chrome), Facebook (most browsers), Twitter (using Greasemonkey), and—of course—Gmail (Firefox and Chrome).

  • Endless Social Networks

Everyone (or every company, perhaps) is embracing social media. The upside is there are a lot of cool webapps. The downside is you're going to have trouble managing all those cool webapps. Unsurprisingly, there are a handful of tools that help you manage your various social media accounts. For starters, check out FellowUp,Nutshell Mail, and our top five social media managers.

  • Unhelpful Search Results

Top 10 Fixes for the Web's Most Annoying ProblemsA lot of sites have ineffective search options (you know, like ours—but there's a workaround!).Most of you feel that even Google isn't all that useful lately. You can, of course, learn a few techniques to help you create better Google search queries. You can also try some alternative search engines and methods if you want an alternative to Google. You're not always going to find what you want, but learning a few new tricks and expanding your options can be a big help.

  • Fake Online Reviews

When you're shopping online, reviews can be helpful in making a decision. They can also be fake and misleading. How do you know? As we've previously discussed, the biggest tells are reviews with no caveats, were all posted shortly after one another, only really talk about product features and not the pros and cons of the product, and the usernames of the reviewers are all very similar. While there's no magic browser extension to easily identify a fake review, if you look closely you can detect fakes pretty easily.

  • Waiting to Download Files from File Sharing Services

If you've ever visited MegaUpload or RapidShare, you know that downloading a file from either site with any expediency requires a premium account. If you don't have a premium account, you're stuck with slower speeds and a countdown timer that forces you to wait. This is designed to annoy you into paying. While you can't fix the slower speeds, you can bypass the wait times with a clever Firefox extension called SkipScreen. Supposedly Skipscreen was also ported to Chrome, but it currently appears to be missing. One less-robust alternative is RapidShare Download Helper.
